Career Choices

Computer and Information Systems Manager, I chose this as one of my top 2 careers because I have been around computers my life and have grown up with them. I also want to be able to organize a large   group of people to work together and create something productive, in this case computer technology. A four year college scholarship is required which isn’t a big thing because I was going to go to college for four years either way. A college that has a degree for this is The University of Nebraska. It will cost $119,424 to attend school for my degree. I could make $100,080 my first year as an IT Manager. A study I would like to pursue inside my job is Computer Security. There isn’t a company I know I want to work for but it would have to have some credit-ability behind it.

My next career choice is an Architectural Engineer, it appeals to me because there are many Architect Firms in Kansas City and I have always been good at math so this would fit perfectly with me. A four year college major is required. The University of Kansas grants degrees in this field and the requirements are at http://ceae.ku.edu/overview-arce-ms. It will cost $101,656 in total to attend the school for my degree. I could make $106,920 my first year as an Engineer. One field I want to pursue is CAD Drawing. I want to work for BNIM if I can.

Infographic

What makes a good infographic is that it must be well put together, catches the readers attention, and the information is entertaining and easy to follow. The infograpic can't have stray pictures floating everywhere, the fonts need to match, and there is no information that doesn't flow with the topic. If it doesn't catch the readers eye  there wasn't a point in making it, the colors can't be dull and try not to have a lot of  writing. Lastly, the information must be able to keep the readers attention now that they've started reading it, have fun facts and info that they wouldn't know about your topic.

I used easel.ly to create my infographic. The site was well put together but the major flaw was when you went to create your infographic, the menu bar seemed simple enough until you wanted to move or change something and had to worry about it being deleted or getting frustrated because the pictures won't move to where you want. Would use a different  site if I had to do this again.

An Apple a Day...

Currently what is happening is that a Court Judge has ordered Apple to create a decryption key to get into the phone of one of the San Bernardino shooters."...the FBI wants Apple to disable the security feature. Once the security is crippled, agents would be able to guess as many combinations as possible." The tech giant has gone against this stating "Smartphones, led by iPhone, have become an essential part of our lives. People use them to store an incredible amount of personal information, from our private conversations to our photos, our music, our notes, our calendars and contacts...All that information needs to be protected from hackers and criminals who want to access it, steal it, and use it without our knowledge or permission" the government could use the key to unlock anyones phone. The NSA stated that it would be used to find contacts that were members of terrorist groups and figure out who helped them. It would help better protect civilians for if there are any other occurrences of this. I don’t think that the government has the authority to make Apple make them such a key, it goes against every Apple product owner, and the risk of someone hacking into Apple and stealing this is almost certain. I wonder if this actually goes through if Apple will create brand new firewalls to stop these hackers? And if they don’t what will the government do with the phone?

How a driverless car sees the world.
In the video they talk about the difference between driver assistance cars and self-driving cars, the time and coding that goes into making self-driving cars as safe as possible, and how the car reacts to random situations. They use infrared lasers and information from other cars to know how to respond. I believe that in my lifetime, the first self driving car will come out, but for now it still needs to work out the kinks and glitches.
1. What type of electronics and mechanics keep the car driving and help it know whats about to happen?
2. What will prevent hackers from hacking into the cars gps and driving you off a cliff?
